I'm trying to be a more positive person for Lent. If you know me, well, you know that there are times that I can be down or a bit angry, even. I try to contain my feelings, but at a certain point, things just boil over. One of the most helpful things that anyone ever told me was that I have a terrible poker face! I always thought I was holding in my feelings, but in reality, my face was telling on me!
Anyway.. Right now, I'm focusing on the positives. I really enjoy my classes, much more than I ever imagined that I would.
Stacey and I WILL be going to the UK this summer, and that's not the University of Kentucky, baby! We are going to ENGLAND! I am so excited that I can't even explain.
Between all the good things going on, it's really tough to focus on such meaningless stuff when I watch the pictures from the earthquake in Chile. What can you do about an 8.8 earthquake? Nothing!
Hope everyone has a good day! I'm going to have a great dinner with my hubby, watch some basketball, and snuggle with my puppy!

Been a long time, been a long time!
Well, it has been awhile. I promised not to ignore my little bloggy blog, but, alas, it has happened. Let's see here.. Last time, I was talking snow! We've had TWO significant snowfalls since that last event! One added up to be around 3.5 inches! Amazing!
I attended spotter training class. That was all kinds of fun. I wish Stacey could have been there, because the people watching was better than going to Walmart at 2am. The people were generally nice, though, and I learned a lot more than I thought I would. I thought I knew it all! HA!
School is getting tough, as it tends to do in the middle of the semester. I'm sure my posts will be few and far between.
I'm ready for spring time so I can get out there for real instead of just talking about a chase. If I hate it, at least I tried. I hope I love it!

Back to Work
Well, I'm back to work today and back to school on Saturday. I do not want to let my little bloggy blog go by the wayside, so I'm going to spend time every morning writing. I plan to do a few updates this week by posting my favorite blogs/websites, and then adding these blogs to the side of this web page.
I think I'll make this public once I post those favorite blogs!
I am thankful to have a job, but I am not ready to go back to work!

Happy New Year
I already posted something about 2009 on Facebook. 2009 was a very stressful year. It started off as a pretty good year, even though I knew one of my best friends was moving away.
Once the month of May got here, Stacey and I celebrated our 10th anniversary by spending a week in California. I learned I could totally live in San Diego! We loved LA, except the traffic on the 405. Stacey did a great job driving through LA!!
Then when we returned home from vacation we got the shocking news that my sister has colon cancer, stage III. She had her 50th birthday in February. This was hard news for my mom and the rest of us. I know personally I struggled with focusing on my job and my life at home for a few months as she started treatment because there was just so much unknown! She had her colon removed, and now, THANKS BE TO GOD, she has been healed! She has many more tests to go through, but at least the worst is over right now! Ans that is truly something to be thankful for!
My uncle, Johnny, has also been in poor health. This has been especially hard for my mom. She's the big sister, and their mother died when they were both young, so mom really played a large role in raising my uncle. He is doing much better now! He's in a nursing home, but he's definitely better than he was a few weeks back!
As for 2010, I'm not making any resolutions... I'm going to call them goals. Resolutions get broken. Goals are something to strive for. Here is my list:
#1: Vacation in the UK
#2: Spotter Training class!
#3: Participate in a few local chases to get a little experience close to home
#4: As always, lose a few pounds!!
#5: Learn, learn, learn! Learning is one of my favorite things! I'm going to learn all I can next year!
#6: Get a digital SLR camera and take some photography classes before the UK trip!
#7: Focus on the positives this year!
Happy 2010 everyone!!
